GDC 2017 Talk: Virtuos’ contribution to the Star Wars Universe
During GDC 2017 in San Francisco the Virtuos team delivered an in depth talk about our work on the Star Wars universe across different mediums and the artistic challenges in finding a balance between consistency and specificity for each of these Star Wars entities.
Horizon Zero Dawn, our 1000th project, released with 3D art from Virtuos!
Virtuos supported Guerrilla Games by providing modeling for 10 key robots, and numerous unique environmental props. Virtuos artists were also able to design character clothing, including costume variants for Aloy, the hero of this exhilarating new action role playing game.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, first of the AAA console titles remastered by Virtuos releasing in 2017, reach an excellent 87% on Metacritic
Shanghai, China – September 10th 2017 We at Virtuos are proud to have had the opportunity to participate in the development of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, providing a second life for the Playstation 2 classic on the Playstation 4 console. After over a decade in waiting, Final Fantasy XII has been re-released by SQUARE ENIX in July with a richer, freshly polished visual experience. The graphical renovating process introduced high definition textures, post filters and lighting improvements via Physically Based Rendering to the already stunning style of series entry.

The panel, titled: Chinese Online Game Production and Outsourcing, was moderated by DoNews Chief Editor Wang Le. In addition to Pan Feng, other panelists included Leon Liang, Kingsoft’s Director of Business Development for China and Charles Song, Sales Director of Greater China for Indian IT company Zensar.
Gamasutra publishes in-depth feature about Virtuos and Outsourcing
Shanghai, April 4th, 2011 – Gamasutra has published an in-depth interview between Virtuos CEO Gilles Langourieux and Gamasutra Features Director Christian Nutt. Held during GDC China 2010, the interview discusses the scale and composition of Virtuos’ workforce, the benefits of Virtuos’ no-IP-creation strategy, and more. “With scale, we were able to specialize our teams of artists. And we have 60 artists who do only characters, we have 100 artists who work only on environment, and we have 30 artists who produce only vehicles. And within those categories, we even have different leads who have different styles attached to them. That only comes with scale.” As of the date of the interview, Virtuos total staff topped 600.

Virtuos Announces the Opening of Virtuos Academy
Shanghai, November 11, 2010 – Virtuos today announced that it will open a game training center in Shanghai for the training of digital entertainment professionals in China. Virtuos Academy will offer higher education to those who would like to pursue studies and careers in the videogame industry. Virtuos delivers speeches at three major industry events
On July 31st, Virtuos Animation Director Zhang Yi Min and Virtuos Production Director Pan Feng spoke on the direction of animation in China, at the first ever China Game Outsourcing Conference (CGOC) in Shanghai. Part of China’s huge China Joy Expo, the CGOC conference is focused on China’s large game outsourcing business.
