Virtuos speaks at DDEV2014 on best practices for distributed game development

Virtuos speaks at DDEV2014 Webinar on Distributed and Remote Development organized by Karelia University.

May 8th, 2014 – Shanghai, China – Virtuos Director of Business Development, Philippe Angely and Virtuos R&D Director, Christophe Archambault spoke today at the Webinar organized by Karelia University in Joensuu, Finland.

During the Webinar a selected group of game industry professionals shared their experiences and observations about distributed teams and remote developers, based on a set of initial questions. These questions aim to gather inside information related especially to project management and technical issues. Results of this seminar are utilized in formulating a reproducible operational model that benefits both companies and educational institutions already working or planning to work in distributed and/or remote environment.

“Game development projects require a versatile set of skilled professionals with different specialties, which sets its own challenges especially to smaller game companies located in less densely populated areas. Distributed development can help in facing these recruiting challenges’’,” said Philippe Angely.

Results of this seminar are utilized in formulating a reproducible operational model that benefits both companies and educational institutions already working or planning to work in distributed environment.
