What happens when you bring over 100 like-minded creatives together on a Thursday? You get a cozy evening of laughter, industry sharing, and exchange of collaboration opportunities over food and drinks.
In November, our teams at Sparx* – a Virtuos Studio and Glass Egg – a Virtuos Studio hosted a casual networking session in collaboration with Autodesk, one of the leading companies in design and make technology. We were happy to welcome a diverse group of attendees from managers to 3D and technical artists across multiple industries.
Attendees getting to know one another before the start of event
Derrick Chong, Industry Sales Lead at Autodesk, kicked off the event with a heartfelt opening speech. Excited about being able to host an in-person meetup after the pandemic hiatus, he thanked everyone for making the time to attend the community networking session, which is part of a community nights event series by Autodesk, and a first for them in Vietnam.
At the same time, he also explained how adaptability had been key for Autodesk in the last two years. With tremendous growth in the 3D art scene as well as the shift in work modes undertaken by the industry, the company had to reposition themselves in order to serve their clients better. His sharing was something most attendees related to, as they had gone through the same experience themselves.

A highlight of the event was when our artists took the floor to share some secrets on art production. Cao Au Nhat Hoang Huan, our associate art director from the art environment team at Sparx*, shared how Autodesk tools are implemented in art production. He also showcased samples of his modeling work in the Captain Marvel movie (2019), as well as his inspiration behind those creations. Fans of Avengers definitely enjoyed listening in on his experience working with the franchise – something not many get to hear about!
Our Glass Egg team also gave a presentation on best practices for car modeling. The following speakers are:
- Vo Xuan Tung, Art Director, Art Management Environment
- Nguyen Hoai Nam, Deputy CEO
- Nguyen Dang Quy, CTO, Art Management
- Tran Quoc Trung, Technical Manager
They also shared insights into how some of the most popular car models were replicated in AAA game titles. How cool is that?

A big thank you to everyone who attended the event and a huge shoutout to our partner Autodesk! We look forward to engaging with the local game development community further in the future.
