This Mother’s Day, we honor, celebrate, and feature some of the amazing moms working at Virtuos who make games better, together, with all our other world-class Virtuosi talents. By sharing their experiences, we hope to inspire other women, at any stage of their lives, and the next generation of female talent to start a career in gaming – in line with our commitment to building a more diverse and inclusive gaming industry.
A study by Activision Blizzard Media found that gaming forms an important part of moms’ lives – 57% of those who game find that it delivers value and positivity to them on a daily basis, by serving as a mood booster and fostering a better sense of connectedness with their children.

For Tran, Junior 3D Artist, Virtuos, games are particularly meaningful in her journey to motherhood. “Being an expecting mom working on great game projects makes me happy and very proud. While I get more tired as my maternity leave draws closer, I am excited and motivated at the thought that one day, my child will enjoy the games that I am credited for. I am proud to be a game artist – it’s always been my childhood dream. Now that I’m soon becoming a mother, I feel a greater sense of pride and look forward to tell my own inspiring stories to my child.”

As a fellow working mom in the gaming industry, Lin, Human Resource Manager, Virtuos, cites a key challenge as the balancing of her time and energy between work and childcare. Some of the ways we support working parents at Virtuos include providing a dedicated nursing room, a hybrid work model, flexible hours, part-time work, sabbatical leave options, and family care leave days. By ensuring that our working fathers also have the opportunity to take family care leave and flexible work options, we in turn help women return to the workforce.
